From thought to canvas

Welcome to a deeper insight into my work.

Here I share the process behind each painting, from the first idea to the final brushstroke. Discover how materials, techniques, and inspiration come together to create something unique

The Foundation: Texture takes shape

My process begins by building texture on cotton canvas using only a small amount of water. The surface dries within one to two days and is then ready for painting. I often prepare several canvases at once, which allows me to paint whenever inspiration appears, even in a busy everyday life.

Colors That Shape Unique Expressions

Color is at the heart of my work. I mix all my colors by hand, which means no two paintings are ever the same. This approach gives each piece its own unique palette and a personal expression. The colors and combinations are never repeated. I finish my work with a spray varnish, either matte or high gloss, to preserve both color and texture.

Inspired by Nature

My painting process is often intuitive, guided by feeling rather than fixed ideas. Much of my inspiration comes from the nature that surrounds me here in Norway. Mountains, fjords, and changing light offer endless impressions that I translate onto the canvas.

"Anyone can create art and find joy in the process."

I hope to inspire others, whether to begin creating art, or simply to enjoy experiencing the work of others. Painting on texture gives me a rewarding feeling, and the message is simple: Art is for everyone!  It can offer a sense of calm and connection.
