Behind the Brushstrokes. A Journey Through Color and Texture
As long as I can remember, I have been creating with my hands. Growing up in a home filled with color, music, and laughter, my artistic journey is deeply rooted in a joy for life itself. From elements of nature to human emotion, everything inspires me. In 2024, I found a deeper form of expression through texture, a process that brings me a rare sense of calm. My wish is simply to inspire and bring joy, whether you are experiencing my work here or on Instagram.

Growing Up in a World of Color
My childhood in Norway was a palette of impressions, shaped by a family of hobby artists. This gave me a deep love for color, texture, and variation, and for everything life has to offer. From the quiet of the forest to the openness of mountain peaks, from cold to warmth, laughter, love, family, people, travel, and animals. All of this comes together in my art as a celebration of life’s many nuances.

From Intuition to Canvas
In 2024, I began exploring texture more deeply, and this is where I truly feel at home. I also enjoy working with oil sticks, watercolor drawing, and watercolor painting. I am an adventurer at heart, with a restlessness that settles when I paint. It is my form of meditation, a release of emotion that I wish everyone could experience. This process has led to a steady flow of new work, each piece shaped by this deep connection. For this reason, every painting is entirely unique and will never be recreated.

A Story in Every Stroke
My process begins by building texture with wall filler on cotton canvas, a preparatory stage that requires patience and continuity. I paint with acrylics that I mix myself. With the environment in mind, I use as much paint as possible, which results in a unique color palette that cannot be recreated. Each painting is guided by intuition and feeling. What do I feel today? This gives me a deep sense of freedom, similar to standing on a mountain peak or hearing my child’s laughter. For this reason, every painting from artbyskj is truly one of a kind and will never be repeated.
